Tips on how to get your referrals

The name of the game is referrals, these are the all important things that you need to get hold of your free gift.

Depending on the gift and site you have chosen the number of referrals you require can range from a couple for an iPod shuffle to up to 40-50 for a laptop or HDTV.

Here are a couple of tips and things to remember when collecting your referrals.

1 -Obide by the rules

This is probably the most important tip to take note of. Read the terms of conditions for getting referrals for the site you have signed up with and stick to them. The last thing you want is to be put on hold or banned just before getting your last referral. Don’t try and cheat the system there are things in place to catch out the fraudsters so don’t even try!

2 - Friends and Family

Friends and family are a great resource for getting referrals, armed with your referral link you have a great chance of getting all your referrals for a gift in one go. Don’t forget they are friends and family so don’t over badger them, gentle reminders now again help as they can be a bit slow!

3 - Forums

Forums are also a great place to get your link accesible to a large audience. Add your link to your signature and everytime you post a message your link will be there. You must however make sure you read the rules of the forum as many of them do not allow the posting of links to referral sites in a post or even in your signature. Break these rules and you could have an angry forum administrator reporting you to your referral site getting your account put on hold.

4 - Your own website

Like me you can create your own website. This is a popular way of getting referrals as potentialy all you have to do when finished is sit back and wait for the referrals to come in. If you are going to make your own website then don’t hide what you are doing, don’t trick people into clicking on your referral link, be informative and give your visitor plenty of information. Finally make sure your website isn’t breaking any of your referral site rules by auto forwarding or hiding or masking your referral link.

5 - Referrals at work or uni

If when getting your referrals your passing the word onto friends and colleagues at work or college/university then remember many of the referral sites regsiter your external IP (it’s like the post code of your internet link) against your account to stop people from regsitering multiple times from the same address. Unfortunately if friends and colleagues register while at work they will all be registering from the same external IP address and could potentialy get your account put on hold. Get them to register from home to ensure each one will be registered with a unique IP address.
